The tropical climate and environment in countries like the Philippines is hard for the maintenance and durability of buildings:
- Intense year-round solar radiant heating adds a heat load on buildings far exceeding the ambient air temperature.
- Monsoon and typhoon rains are intense with pressure to penetrate any potential as well as existing leak.
- The combination of year-round heat and moisture accelerates and exacerbates the normal slow deterioration of materials, including rusting.
Thermacoat provides immediate, practical, and user-friendly benefits that address all these three threats to the external surfaces of a building, particularly its roofing:
- An insulation that is three times as effective against solar radiant heating as standard 25mm foil-foam-foil type insulation or 100mm solid styrofoam insulation.
- A waterproof seal covering the entire outside surface, so there is no need to locate leaks or remove under-roof insulation.
- Significantly reduces radiant heating compared to under-roof heat gain from metal roof sheets.
- Inhibits the start of rust and slows existing rusting.
- An added aesthetic benefit is that it can be applied in its original brilliant white color or tinted to another color if preferred.
Thermacoat is also an effective insulation against conduction heat (by physical contact with external heat or cold) and convection heat (transferred by air or liquid from external sources).
Thermacoat can be used with great benefit on:
- Low-level building roofs including factories, farm and other agri-business buildings, houses, resorts, schools, warehouses, and other types of buildings.
- Solid building side surfaces facing South-East, South, and South-West for high as well as low-level buildings.
- Ducting and piping (inside and outside) that conduct cold or hot air or liquids.
Thermacoat can be applied to metal, concrete, ceramic tile, fiberglass, and wood as well as most rigid plastics. It can also be applied to glass (but will render it opaque).
