THERMACOAT FOR INSULATING AIR-DUCTS & PIPES

Thermacoat offers outstanding protection as insulation against the transfer by conduction of heat or coldness (in addition to its outstanding protection against radiant heating).

With this protection as insulation against heat transfer by conduction, Thermacoat is an ideal insulation for air-ducts and pipes used to transfer gaseous or liquid content for which the level of heat or coldness needs to be maintained, regardless of the external ambient air temperature.

This performance of Thermacoat makes it an ideal insulation for:

  • GI ducts for air-conditioning systems with a centralized cooling source with extensive ducting required to transfer the cooled air widely throughout large building(s).
  • GI ducts for hot-air heating systems with a centralized heating source and extensive ducting required to transfer the heated air widely throughout large building(s).
  • Copper and other types of pipes used to transfer hot water and other hot liquids.
  • Copper and other types of pipes used to transfer coolants (such as freon) in refrigeration systems.
  • Pipes outside of buildings used to transfer combustible and other gaseous/liquid content that is sensitive to over-heating and would be dangerous if over-heated by solar radiant heat.

Added benefits of using Thermacoat for insulating air-ducts and pipes include:

  • It can be applied on brand new air-ducts and piping as well as on those already in use (with the latter, any existing fiber-form-foil insulation will have to be removed).
  • It can be installed without dismantling existing ducts and/or pipes.
  • Providing the surface to be covered is not excessively hot or cold, Thermacoat can be applied without interrupting operations. (If there is excessive hot or cold content, the flow may have to be temporarily interrupted).
  • If the air-ducts or pipes are iron or GI, the rust-inhibition component in Thermacoat will inhibit rusting.
  • Unlike fiber-form-foil forms of insulation, Thermacoat is not a possible habitat for birds, insects, and/or rodents.
  • Thermacoat is a white, water-based liquid that can be color-tinted to facilitate color-coding of duct and pipe content.
  • Thermacoat is used for outside of roofs exposed to extreme temperature, rain, and wind conditions with an effective life of 10–15 years.
