BioPur is the world’s most environmentally safe and cost-effective bioremediation process for the mitigation of hazardous waste, spills, and contamination virtually anywhere, of any size—large or small.
It is an environmentally safe clean-up method because it uses nature’s own bioremediation processes to effectively eliminate hazardous materials.
It is not a bacteria (bug), fertilizer, or dispersant product.
It is a biological enzyme that converts the waste into a natural food source for the enhanced native bacteria found in the environment. The end result of this process is CO₂ and water.
It will reduce clean-up costs and permanently eliminate the hazardous waste problem in place, with no secondary clean-up required.
It is listed on the US Environmental Protection Agency’s National Contingency Plan for Oil Spills (NCP).
The Chemical Process
Once BioPur is applied to a hydrocarbon spill, the enzymes and other product constituents start emulsification and solubilization of the hydrocarbon substrate.
Emulsification and solubilization generally take from a few minutes up to a few hours for weathered heavy-end hydrocarbons, once BioPur is applied at a temperature of 40 °F or greater.
Once solubilization is completed, the hydrocarbon substrate is less toxic (and the hazard of fire is diminished), so the enhanced naturally occurring bacteria will have a higher affinity for the solubilized hydrocarbon substrate.
